Method

How we count

The power map counts each country's ties with India across the four layers: a visit by the prime minister this year, a trade agreement, UPI and Indian defence equipment. A country in a regional agreement, such as the EU or ASEAN, counts as party to it. Planned visits are as reported and become made visits once their last day passes. This map tracks cooperation; conflict is on the conflict tracker.
